Objective of the event
To generate an exchange between high-level representatives on experiences in the development of Long-Term Climate Strategies (LTCS) in Latin America, aimed at promoting greater commitment of countries in the development of their policies and climate action to comply with the Paris Agreement and to promote collaborative work in the region by reducing knowledge gaps.
Brief description
The event aims to:
- Exchange experiences of countries in the region on the construction of their LTCSs:
- i) Cases of Chile, Uruguay, and Panama to find out which are the key aspects, actors, and processes taken into account in the preparation of their LTCSs.
- ii) Case of Honduras, to find out what needs and challenges the country faces in the initial stage of formulating its LTCS.
- To present the initiative of the Latin American Network for Long Term Climate Planning, as an articulating instrument that facilitates the use of and access to collaborative initiatives in LTCS in the countries of the region.
