Objective of the event
Analyse the opportunities and challenges presented by the design and implementation of sectoral decarbonisation roadmaps as tools to enhance intersectoral articulation, increase corporate climate ambition, and improve the alignment of private sector climate action with national and international goals, based on experiences in Costa Rica and Brazil.
Brief description
It will start with a brief welcome by the European Commission, followed by an introduction and context by Ana María Majano, coordinator of the "ArticuLAC" initiative. This will be followed by two short presentations on the methodological approach and the participation of the private sector in the construction of sectoral roadmaps in Costa Rica and Brazil, by organisations that are supporting these processes: UNEP DTU in Costa Rica and WRI Brazil. The third segment is a panel discussion, moderated by Pablo Rojas, regional advisor of GIZ / EUROCLIMA+, and with the participation of representatives of government and private sector institutions involved in the formulation of the roadmaps in Costa Rica and Brazil. Finally, Marc Chapellier, FIIAPP officer for the EUROCLIMA+ Programme, will recapitulate the conclusions of the event.
