Objective of the event
The objective of this event is to share experiences and lessons learned on vertical integration of adaptation planning processes at national and sub-national levels in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Description
The event will start with an introduction (10am) by Daniel Morchain from IISD. He recently led the creation of a report on Progress and challenges in achieving vertical integration in adaptation processes. (https://www.iisd.org/publications/achieving-vertical-integration-in-adaptation-processes).
After his intervention, the panel of experts and representatives from the four countries will begin. Each person will have up to 10 minutes to present lessons and progress in their countries with a Power Point presentation with a maximum of 5 slides, followed by questions and a conversation facilitated by a moderator (already confirmed). The experiences to be detailed are the project Plan A - Resilient Territories, in Costa Rica; the creation of the National Adaptation Plan in Honduras and adaptation processes in the Dominican Republic and Chile. Each of the panellists has specific and proven experience in their fields.
At the end of the session, the Minister of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica will give closing remarks (5 minutes).
